Wallace Heim researches, writes and teaches on performance and nature. She holds a doctorate in philosophy on ethics, rhetoric and social practice art. She is co-editor of The Ashden Directory, and taught on the MA Arts and Ecology at Dartington College of Arts. She is a director of the research communication group PublicSpace, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a trustee for PLATFORM. She serves on the editorial board for the upcoming Journal of Performance and Ecology. She co-curated the conference/event Between Nature and co-edited Nature Performed. Environment, Culture and Performance. Her first career was as a set designer in theatre, and she was among those who started the Gate Theatre in London.
